The Simpsons

Homer Simpson is a fictional character and the bumbling, yet lovable, patriarch of the Simpson family from the animated television series The Simpsons.

He first appeared, alongside the rest of his immediate family, in a series of animated shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987.

Homer works as a safety inspector at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, a job he routinely neglects. His incompetence and short attention span often lead to workplace accidents and near meltdowns. He is recognizable by his yellow skin, balding head, and distinct "D'oh!" exclamation.

Homer possesses a simple, childlike view of the world. He has a voracious appetite, particularly for donuts and beer, and is a frequent customer at the Kwik-E-Mart. While often portrayed as lazy and ignorant, Homer displays moments of surprising resourcefulness and deep affection for his family.
